The only invited choir, Asia Pacific Youth Choir, formed by selected singers from the Asia Pacific Region will take up the ambassadorship and perform during Choral Summit at Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Highlights of the concerts include Asia Pacific Choral Summit Opening Ceremony in which audience enjoy a Hong Kong highlight by elite choirs from Hong Kong, Choral Showcase (Audience can vote for your favourite choir), Asia Pacific Youth Choir Concert and Closing Concert cum Final of Hong Kong Choral Conducting Competition. All the concerts will definitely amaze the audience and promote musical and intercultural experience in the Asia Pacific Region.

Highlights of the evening will include performances by HKCC and its friends: Diocesan Girls’ Junior School Choir, winner of “The Hong Kong Children’s Choir Trophy” Best Primary School Junior Choir at the 71st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival; and Yat Po Singers, the first local professional a cappella choral theatre company. As the largest children’s choir in the world, HKCC will bring new dimensions to choral singing by collaborating with Heartgrey, National Beatbox Champion and Gordon Lee, one of the world’s foremost harmonicists. -

The choir consists of 42 singers selected from 9 countries and regions. Since its founding in 2011, APYC is established as one of the most remarkable musical and intercultural experiences offered to young musicians in the Asia Pacific region. Special performing guests will also include ONE Chamber Choir, a young adult choir from Singapore who has participated in numerous international music festivals; as well as Die Konzertisten, one of Hong Kong’s foremost chamber choirs excels in the diversified repertoire. -

Winners will be selected by adjudicators including Mr Chen Guanghui from mainland China, Ms Saeko Hasekawa from Japan, Ms Lim Ai-hooi from Singapore and Prof Chan Wing-wah, Prof Johnny M.
